Patio Design with Firepit

This is a small portion of a multi-level patio system in a large, sloping back yard in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The homeowners wanted a place to entertain, places for the kids to play and for things to flow together. With a sloped yard, the energy will rush. So my job was to slow it down. I accomplished this by creating different levels with a few steps connecting each patio area. This creates different outdoor ‘rooms’ and slows the rushing Feng Shui energy, causing it to meander. One level has the outdoor kitchen with a large table for guests to enjoy the cuisine, one level has a pergola with outdoor couches and outdoor rug, another level has a built-in settee and a fire pit. Below the patio system is a large expanse of grass and a sand pit for the children to play.
